I am a classically trained two-dimensional animator, qualified teacher of Art and practicing comics artist.
I grew up idolising Christopher Reeve's Superman and Adam West's Batman, as a child not knowing that these iconic characters originated in comics. Other than The Beano and The Dandy, I was largely unaware of the medium of comic books until my mother one day bought me my first comic books - Batman and Captain America. Suddenly an entirely new and exciting world of larger-than-life, superpowered heroes and villains was opened up to me and I became entranced. From the moment I first picked up a pencil, I had always been drawing; creating my own comic strips influenced by my favourite comic strip at that point - Calvin & Hobbes. After reading those first two comic books, I began creating my own superhero characters and comic books.
In the years since, my own adventures have seen me travelling across the world and delving into teaching Art both in the UK and Asia. No matter where in the world I was however, three things have always remained close at hand: a sketchpad, a pencil and a comic book.
